We hit the two month mark of moving in to our new home on Friday. It is really starting to feel like our cozy little space and less like someone else’s place. We still have a lot on our to do list, but the rooms are shaping up. I thought it was past time to give you a tour and show some before and after pictures. Let’s start our tour in the living room. The picture above is what it looks like now.
This is a picture of what the living room looked like the day we moved in. As you can see, we removed the ceiling fan and opted for a school house light in its place. We changed the paint color from beige to Sherwin Williams Byte Blue. We also changed out the curtains, added some bamboo shades, put in gas fireplace logs and removed the giant mirror above the fireplace. We decided to place the tv above, a decision that we love.
Next up is the dining room. It featured green and yellow paint with a broken chandelier.
We changed the paint colors immediately. The top is Sherwin Williams Cityscape. The bottom of the wall is Sherwin Williams Extra White.
The chandelier was a score at the Habitat for Humanity Restore. We also added some sheers and bamboo shades here.
This is the upstairs bathroom. I fell in love with the original tile work when we first saw the house.
We chose Sherwin Williams Topsail to update the look of the bathroom. We replaced the shower curtain with a spa style curtain. I found the shutters at Construction Junction and painted and changed the fabric to coordinate with the colors in the bathroom.
We found this shelf at the Habitat for Humanity Restore and painted it the same shade of black as the shutter.
This yellow room was the room I avoided when we first moved in. We stored all of the unopened boxes in there so it was a horrible mess. Plus the yellow paint color was almost blinding.
We chose Sherwin Williams Online for this room. It is so much more subtle and now is my favorite room to look at when I walk down the hall.
The master bedroom featured the same beige color as the living room. I started painting it on move in day.
It is now Sherwin Williams Tradewind. The rug is from Target. We also added bamboo shades and blackout curtains.
This is actually the second bedroom. We are using it as a guest room and an office.
This room is also painted Sherwin Williams Tradewind.
We replaced all of the ceiling fans on the second floor to the one shown in the picture. I think it gives the upstairs a more cohesive look.
This is our upstairs hall. I just wanted to show you the paint color we chose for the hall, stairwell, and foyer. The paint color is Shewin Williams Softened Green.
Finally, the half bath downstairs.
We added a shutter and a framed photo.
Our next big project is reconfiguring the kitchen so that it is more functional. And I will leave you with a view from our office window. Love the river view!
