On a recent trip to Hermitage, PA, we decided to go to one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Combine Brothers is not very far off of 376. The restaurant has an industrial feel with paper on the tables. The food comes in huge portions ready to share or take home several meals worth of leftovers.
Each dinner comes with a salad with house dressing. I love the house dressing. It is a red wine dressing and I think it is like a creamy Italian with red wine vinegar. It is tart and delicious.
These are the dinner rolls that come with the meal. If you can’t tell from the picture, they are the size of softballs, maybe bigger. They are crusty on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside.
As an appetizer, we always order the pepper misto. It features a mixture of red roasted peppers, marinated jalapeños, grilled banana peppers, crushed roasted garlic, and olive oil. If you order an appetizer, they do not charge $4 to split a meal.
I like to eat a mixture of peppers with the bread.
Finally, our entree. They have tons of different sauces and you can actually pick the type of pasta you would like to eat with it. This is my special combination. It is farfalle with the pink pepper sauce and fried greens and baked three cheeses added. Pink pepper sauce is a mixture of the diabolo and alfredo. Diavolo is slightly spicy with chunks of tomato and zucchini. The pink pepper is very creamy with a hint of spice. This was my perfect pasta, but you can make your own creative combinations. We will be back again when we are in the area and are really hungry. Two of us split this and still had enough leftover for another meal.
